Description

All photoshop drawing... I think I wanted certain aspects of this to resemble something photographic, or found object.
This is one of a larger series of iterations. I am thinking of outputting them as hardcopy and then using those as a base for some mixed media gallery work.

Not sure what else to tell you about them... obvious mechanical aspect here.

To answer some earlier questions that came up some place not too long ago... Switching gears from the more overtly figurative work. I think I prefer this kind of work because it is less loaded with allegorical baggage ya know? Not that I don't value directly figurative work but often it becomes a case where we are more concerned with learning the story of the human elements in the work than we are with experiencing the work as a whole. I also think that when done well, "abstract" is harder because you have no existing blueprint and must instead find ways to recall the proper moods using more formally pure elementation.

Both are valid, and a large part of learning to let the work happen is realizing that vastly divergent styles will emerge from the same source, much like you can play a musical instrument in many different styles of music I suppose. It is a natural part of the arti making development cycle and artists should let what happens happen without stressing out too much in regards to developing a "style". Like when you stare at a color so long and look away the fatigued cones in your eyes display the inverse... so it goes wtih methods of rendering. Cyclical periods of rest and activity can account for the seemingly varied results from the same source.

Well, hell. That was a long ass bit of art history gab.
But there ya go.
