Interestingly enough, this is in line with the sketches that were exploring those particular shapes and forms that would seem to be hardcoded into humans to cause an alert response.

Things that slither, scurry, bite and sting.
Maybe that is what you are picking up on a bit?

yeah, slithering in swamps. the main figure kinda reminds me of a mandrake too.
