New work March 2005.
Thinking of anthropology and cultures like that of the Bedouins.

Daily Deviation

Given 2005-03-12

Some artwork is so well made that it is able to find a compelling voice and can speak, it creates a melody with it's concept and forms a dialect by it's method. Take a moment and listen to Blood of Honor by ~Senecal (Suggested by `wroth and Featured by `mirrorkills)

Your work is consistently so far and above what anyone else is doing digitally.

Hopefully when I get some bills paid off I'll be able to decorate my walls with some of your prints... but what I'd really like to do is poke around in your hard drive for a few days :)

Great work.

Wow. It seems to me that this is a nice summary of your art, visually at lest. A fractured array of images spanning a range of styles; abstract, organic, a bit traditional. The colors are fantastic, but the image would stand up in grayscale too. Judged on the technical level, I'd say this is my favorite piece in your gallery now. Still don't know about the conceptual level, will have to study it some more.

I rarely fav anything, but yah, this one is a must.

Thanks man, for the astute analysis.
Making a solid image in monotone before adding color is a handy tip that Bouguereau often used.
Taking a page from his book when it counts...
This is for a "Fine Art" exhibiton coming up.

The blood of honor is a ritual whereby the hymen of the young girl is broken with the finger of an elder covered by a white cloth to test her purity and worthiness of marriage. Though this is not intended to be an illustration of that, it certianly is intended to make reference to this and moreso the cultural significance. You could open a dialog about women's rights, sexuality among various cultures, etc. etc. I prefer not to spout off too much and find it is more significant when the viewer discovers the elements and theme for themselves.

Well hey thanks for that. I hope things work out!
Not to sound arrogant but they DO look nice and in fact I have kept several for my own collection.

cool. worlds apart. having spent the day screen-printing and being consistently disappointed with the flat and lifeless colours... I can now gleefully say to hell with it. you could chase hues of this ilk for donkeys years...

the top left is great, quiet harmonics, interesting traces / echos of other ideas.
